Dear Westside Dance Physical Therapy Family

​

We would like to update you on the current status and on goings in the office. We are open and scheduling in clinic Physical Therapy appointments for new and existing clients. 

 

Westside Dance Physical Therapy will be open Monday through Friday from 8 am to 6 pm.  Call our front office at (212) 541 - 8450 or email your therapist to schedule an appointment

We opened our office June 1st with new policies and procedures in place and continue to adhere to New York state and CDC guidelines for protecting the public and our staff. Read below on the steps we are taking to ensure everyone's safety.

Daily Operations

​

  • Westside Dance Physical Therapy will be open Monday through Friday from 8 am to 6 pm. 

  • Initial evaluations will be scheduled for a one-hour time interval. Follow up appointments are scheduled in 45 minute blocks This includes 40 minutes one on one with your therapist, time to check in, have your treatment, pay for service and exit the clinic. 

  • Locker room use will be limited to one person at a time. 

  • Our modality room is currently closed. If you require any modality such as heat, laser etc. it will be applied during your treatment time. 

  • Clothing will no longer be loaned out for patient use. Please bring a separate change of clothes for your appointment.  

  • Acupuncture, pilates and massage services are back with limited availability. Please find the practitioners information on our website if you are interested in working with them.  

  • Classes will continue via a virtual platform. Find our what classes are available in the remainder of this email 

Sanitizing Protocols
  • All surfaces in the front office, waiting room, treatment rooms and bathrooms will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected between patients including treatment tables, doorknobs, light switches countertops, desks, keyboards, toilets, sinks, faucets, PT equipment and anything else touched during the treatment session.

  • Treatment tables have been spread out to allow for a minimum of 6 feet between patients and practitioners. In addition, each treatment space and the front desk is now separated by a Plexiglass partition. 

Employee Health and Safety Measures 
  • All front desk and medical staff will be wearing masks. Gloves may also be requested.

  • All front desk staff and medical staff will receive daily body temperature screenings before the start of each shift.

​

  • Any employee with a temperature at or above 99.8 degrees F or with cough/respiratory symptoms will be asked to leave the clinic, seek medical care immediately and require a physician’s note to return to work. 

Guidelines for Patients
  • Please contact our front office or your physical therapist directly to book an appointment instead of.  Staff emails are listed at the bottom of this page.

  • For new patients who wish to set up an initial Physical Therapy evaluation in clinic or Telehealth, please call our front office or contact us via email

  • All patients will be required to wear a mask or face covering that they bring to the clinic. We will not be providing masks. 

  • All patients will be required to take a body temperature screening upon arrival. This will be performed at the front desk by your treating therapist prior to you entering the treatment area. Although the CDC describes 100.4 degrees F as a temperature for you to stay home, if you have a temperature at or above 99.8 degrees F or present with cough/respiratory symptoms, you will be asked to leave the clinic immediately.

  • You will be required to wash your hands prior to the start of an appointment for at least 20 seconds. In addition, an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% rubbing alcohol will be readily available for use.

  • Payment for services will be handled at the front desk prior to the start of your visit. 

  • Family members, friends and home health aides will no longer be allowed to attend your appointment . They will need to remain in the waiting room area.  

  • Please consider continuing your PT remotely via Telehealth if you are uncomfortable returning to the clinic or currently have risk factors for severe disease. Everyone is at risk of getting COVID-19. Older adults and people of any age who have serious underlying medical conditions may be at higher risk for more severe illness. 

    • According to the CDC, individuals who are at high-risk for severe illness from COVID-19 include:

      • People 65 years and older. 

      • People with chronic lung disease or moderate to severe asthma.

      • People who have serious heart conditions.

      • People who are immunocompromised including: individuals undergoing cancer treatment, bone marrow or organ transplantation, those dealing with immune deficiencies, poorly controlled HIV or AIDS, prolonged use of corticosteroids and other immune weakening medications.

      • Smokers. 

      • People with severe obesity (body mass index [BMI] of 40 or higher).

      • People with diabetes.

      • People with chronic kidney disease undergoing dialysis.

      • People with liver disease.

 

  • All patients will be required to complete a prescreening form prior to your first visit back with us in the clinic. Forms will be available for download online on our website, Patient forms   Please download the form, complete it and scan it to your therapist prior to your visit. Please note that we reserve the right to regulate in-person physical therapy visits based on the answers on this prescreening form as well as any patient’s health status.  

 

  • Medicare is now reimbursing for Telehealth services as of March 1st, 2020. Please contact your insurance carrier directly with any further questions regarding reimbursement for virtual PT services at this time.
